Here are the squash plants & the beans and peas. The peas didn't make it b/c some of my helpers pulled them up thinking they were weeds.
The garden is not all that beautiful, but hopefully we will have some beautiful veggies in a few weeks!
We planted 6 tomato plants of different varieties. Can't wait for those juicy tomatoes to be here!!
Right up front, I should recommend Camp Jellystone! We loaded up the RV (Johnny's parent's RV) and drove a short way to Waller TX for a camping weekend. It was so fun for all of us! We will definitely plan to go again! They had a giant pool and waterslide that will probably be a lot more fun next time. Meanwhile, there was tons of stuff to do the whole time!
Here's the giant dragon inflatable they had set up when we arrived. The kids only went down one time. It was a little steep so it took Emma a long time to go down the first time, but then she wanted to do it again, but it was time to go to the hayride!

Yogi rode all over the camp grounds on his golf cart and jumped off to pose for a picture with Emma. Sammy ran away when he got off the cart!
The best part of the camping trip is the Smore's!! I think Emma had 3 or 4 of them! Yummy!!
Craft time. Sammy & Emma painted their own Yogi Bear t-shirts. Sammy was so careful and thorough. He colored EVERYTHING on the shirt!
The petting zoo was so cute but more of a feeding zoo since it was a little hard to pet them. There were a few little cut out squares to stick your arm through to pet them. The donkeys used those squares to ask for more food! It was hilarious feeding the animals!
Screaming "HELLO" out the side of the RV is really fun...even when there's nobody else around. Great trip!
How fun to end the year of field trips with a visit to the Bayou Wildlife Park in Alvin! I got to drive with Emma, 3 friends and Mrs. Diekroeger riding with me. It was a beautiful day and there was so much to see and do, we had a fabulous time!
The kids all did a little pony ride and then checked out some of the animals in the petting area...mostly goats, but also a giant pot belly pig. There were also a few giraffes to look at nearby.
Then we had our sack lunches and Emma really enjoyed having mommy there to help and share a yummy PB&J with her!
She really loved feeding the camels at the end of the jeep ride! They were so sweet but a little persistent about getting the food and then following our jeep!
After the jeep ride, we headed over for some photos by the big sign. Everyone was so cute lined up there and poking their heads through the people cutouts!
I am so very glad I was able to go on such a fun field trip outing with Emma!

Easter Sunday is always so fun, but this year was extra fun because we all knew we were expecting the Easter Bunny and a basket filled with goodies to find! Not to mention ALL THE EGGS that would be hidden! But who knew that some of the eggs would even be in the house! How did that bunny get in here??? Well since it was wet and maybe going to rain, the bunny brought most of the eggs inside to be safe. That was really super fun!! And they REALLY liked that the bunny put one of those big glitter bouncy balls in their baskets!
Sammy found a ton of eggs and was really excited about what was inside them! YUM!
Emma was a super egg hunter too!Take each of your peeled hard-boiled eggs and slice off the bottom (wide) end to expose the yolk. Cut a small sliver off of the top (pointed) end to help it sit up straight. (I ended up cutting them in 1/2 so I could use both sides, but made the cut with the pointed end up.)
Scoop out the yolks into a medium-sized bowl and place the whites carefully into an empty egg carton with the hole-end up for filling purposes.
In your bowl, mash the yolks with a fork and add mayonnaise, lemon juice, chives, bacon, tarragon and mustard, then stir well. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Use a pastry bag with a piping tip or a zip top plastic bag with a corner snipped at an angle to fill your egg whites with the yolk mixture. Add more mayo if the mixture is too thick to pass through. Garnish with chopped fresh chives.

On Saturday before Easter, we took the kids to the Sweetwater Country Club's annual Hare Fair. There were some big bouncy things to play on, carnival games, cookie decorating & a lunch. First they posed with the big bunny and then waited for the egg "hunt" to begin. It's not really a hunt because all the eggs are just laying out on the grass. Sammy went first with the 3 and under group. He got a little coaching from daddy to "focus! on the eggs", "don't look at other kids, just grab the eggs fast!". Well, he took it seriously and was a little egg grabbing MACHINE!
Just after starting, Sammy collected 10 eggs in about 15 seconds!
Pivot & grab, pivot & grab! Like a machine!
After about 2 minutes of steady grabbing, we started saying "that's enough" and got him to come out of the hunt. Needles to say, way more candy than a kid needs!
I think I counted 45 eggs before daddy pitched some back in the field. He was a happy boy!
The hunt is over, now time to sit down with Caroline & check out the prizes & the candy!

We have been meeting for years with a few young friends for a bi-monthly playgroup. This one was hosted by the mommy of Laraleigh and Lane on Good Friday. We had a little craft, a little lunch & cupcakes and lots of egg hunting and candy munching!
