News Flash: Simply Sassy is now available at Magpies on Bellaire!!

Today is very exciting for Simply Sassy! The first official store display is up and ready for ordering at the Magpies Gifts Store on Bellaire Blvd in Houston! The ladies in the shop are so sweet and helpful with everything. They have tons of cute gift items and were so sweet to stock some inventory and put up a display as well. Hopefully we'll be taking lots of orders there! I am also planning to work with the Magpies location in Sugar Land soon to get a display in that store as well!

Christ Church School Annual Dinner/Auction Fundraiser

To raise awareness for Simply Sassy Paper and to raise some funds for the kids' Mother's Day Out program at Christ Church School, I came up with a March Madness Sale that ran through March. It offered special deals on some of the custom stationery and a percentage of the sales went to the school. The check was presented at the annual dinner auction held at the Sweetwater Country Club. It was a fun night with a Boots & Bling theme and lots of silent auction items to bid on.

Check presented to Beth Carter, CCS director

I personally ended up with both of my kids' class movie posters with a western theme. Since then, we have had them hanging in the playroom. They are adorable!

Here's Emma's poster. She's down on the bottom row, 2nd from the end. click on the picture to enlarge.

Unfortunately, a couple of days ago, Sammy was playing with his tinker toys and flung a wooden wheel at his poster. The glass took a bad hit and broke! He was so sorry and "didn't know it was going to hit it!" Oh well, glass is cheap, right?
Here's Sammy's poster. He's on the top row, 4th over. (the shortest one!) You can see the starburst he made with the tinkertoy on the left upper side. :-)

PressProof Printing in Print Ad!

I recently started working as a part time Marketing Director for my husband Johnny's PressProof Printing. He has been in business for nearly 20 years but has never really had time to market or position himself in the community as a recognized name. So when we were looking at ways to increase sales and visibility, we decided to become a member of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and put an ad in the Fort Bend Business Journal. So there it is (on page 38 of the April edition), my first publication ad for his business and my Simply Sassy Paper too! We are hoping to get those phones ringing for quotes and orders!

It is also available on-line through their website here.

Spring Shopping Day @ Nicole's

My dear friend Nicole hosted a fun day of shopping and snacking last weekend. It turned out to be a rainy cold day most of the day so shoppers were a little sparse. I had a little "booth" for Simply Sassy Paper and enjoyed seeing some friends and meeting new people.

We had a great time and there was tons of yummy food all day long. The Pampered Chef rep, Shawnne, had some great tasting and great looking appetizers. I loved this one and she was nice enough to share the recipe:

Sun-Dried Tomato-Pesto Brie

1/4 cup pine nuts
2/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained, patted dry and chopped
1 T prepared basil pesto
1 4-inch round (8 oz.) Brie cheese with
rind, room temperature
1 loaf (16 oz) French baguette
Vegetable oil or Extra Virgin Olive oil

Preheat oven to 425. Coarsely chop the pine nuts and sun-dried tomatoes. Combine with the basil pesto. Cut Brie in half horizontally. Place one half of Brie, cut side up, onto center of Large Round Baking Stone. Spread 1/2 the mixture evenly over bottom half and top with remaining half of Brie, cut side up. Spread with remaining mixture, sprinkle with remaining pine nuts.

Using the bread knife, cut baguette on a bias into 24 1/4 inch thick slices. Arrange baguette slices around Brie, drizzle with oil. Bake 8-10 minutes or until baguette slices are golden brown and rie begins to soften. Remove from oven; let stand 5 minutes before serving.

I think it took about 20 or so minutes for the Brie to be devoured. It was delicious and fancy looking! Makes a great appetizer for any party!

The cutest thing...

I recently introduced custom Photo Pads to the Simply Sassy Paper line. These are adorable because they have YOUR adorable photo in the background with your name, contact info or any text printed on it! These are 5x7 notepads with 50 sheets and are $15 each or 2 for $25. Just forward a photo (vertical orientation works best) to me at sharon@simplysassypaper.com. The photo does not need to be black & white or edited in any way. Include your text and quantity too and I can have them ready for you in a few days! These will also be available in 4.25 x 5.5 notepads as well and priced at $12 each or 2 for $20. These make a really great gift for anyone!
